Versatility is one of the most important things I look for when shopping for a new addition to my wardrobe so for the next few weeks, I wanted to share some of my favorite tops worn two totally different ways in a series of “Tops Two Ways” posts.
Inadvertently sticking to my green theme from last week, this week’s outfit revolves around this gorgeous and super soft green long-sleeved tee. The fabric of this shirt just feels totally luxurious, I fell in love at first touch lol. Even Marc comments on how soft it is when I wear it! I’m also a sucker for crop tops and especially ones with a tie or knot detail like this one has in the front. The knot brings some dimension to the top and gives it a little more of a finish than just a plain, drapey crop top would be, and I also find that details like this in the front draw attention away from any days I’m not feeling totally my skinniest in the belly area. I feel like the mockneck on this top also gives it a really classic, chic look that stands out.
For the first look, I paired this top with super high-waisted Natasha skinny jeans. These jeans, in the Obscura wash and full length, are one of my go-to pairs because they just make me feel so good, and honestly, they make me feel sexy, which is just the best confidence booster. They hug everything in all the right places, the gray wash can be worn so many ways, and the button details make them a little more exciting than just a basic pair of jeans. For all my other tall girlfriends out there, these have a {wait for it} 11.25-inch rise!! I know, uh-may-zing right? You’ll see me wearing these jeans a ton! They also come in an ankle length if you prefer and a number of other washes.
The perfect shoes and accessories finish this look. I wore my favorite black booties by Steve Madden (that I loved so much I bought in black and brown!) The pointed toe, chunky square heel, and dark black suede make them perfectly chic. I have to warn you though, these have a higher ankle which has become more of the style this past season so be sure to wear appropriate socks, tuck your skinny jeans inside, or know that you may have a little ankle rubbing going on the first few wears until they get broken in. Totally worth it though 🙂 And they are on sale now!
This adorable black crossbody is so versatile, and made of such beautiful leather. The tassel gives it a slightly boho look, but it still can be worn with more sophisticated styles too. Dress it up or down! My tassel earrings add a lot of fun to this look and were a bargain BaubleBar find! {Stay tuned for my vacay earring post!} Last but definitely not least, every girl needs a good pair (or like 5) of great sunnies that she loves! I’m slightly obsessed with sunglasses lol and need to steer clear of that section whenever I’m in Bloomies, but when you find a pair that really accentuates your features and that you love, it’s totally worth it. This pair I’m wearing I love! I used to only buy brown sunglasses because of my features and coloring, but these ones just feel so NYC chic and #bossbabe and the gold detail warms them up a bit. Linking a similar, less-expensive pair here too!
The second way I wore this top (and probably my favorite!) is with my go-to joggers. These are high waisted and I literally wear them with everything. I was overwearing them so much I had to buy a second pair! I love traveling in these especially. Off-white sneakers make this outfit perfect for running errands, travel, whatever, but the neutral coloring still makes the look put together and chic without it looking like you came from the gym **{use my code BECCAKAE50 to get 20% off these sneaks and anything else you buy in your first purchase!}**. I switched up the sunnies with this look and wore a pair of tortoise shell aviators. Mine are Gucci and super old, but I linked a similar and more affordable pair here! I also have to call out this scrunchie because I’m obsessed with the fact that scrunchies have come back in and these velvet ones are a great buy – 5 for only $12! I love all the colors and wear them all on the daily.
I hope you liked this post showcasing two fab looks with one great top! Comment below & let me know which look is your fav!? Stay tuned for more “Tops Two Ways” in the coming weeks for other versatile tops!
