If you’ve been following along with me for a little bit, you know by now that I love wardrobe versatility. This is especially true when it comes to buying clothes for the office. I try to only buy work clothes that I would wear in another way for the weekend or a night out or even vacation because let’s be real, it’s way more fun to buy clothes for fun times rather than for work! Today I’m sharing two pairs of work pants that can take you from workweek to weekend in fashion. Hope you like them!
This blue pair was such a lucky find. They are only $55 and come in a bunch of colors {black, tan, green, you name it!} I’m pretty picky about work pants because you wear them for a long time each wear {8+ hours} and you are usually sitting, or at least in my current job I’m mostly sitting. So I need comfort that doesn’t easily wrinkle or bag out throughout the day. Harder to find than you would expect right? I was so happy when I found these because they are lightweight and flattering without being too fitted for the office. The pleats add a nice put-together element to them, and they didn’t wrinkle when I wore them to work all day! The tapered ankle is a great look on anybody, but especially helpful on tall girls like me because you can’t notice that they fit a little shorter than they would on people not as tall. I actually was so impressed by these, especially at the price, that I went back and bought them in black! Hey, when you find a staple that you love and will wear probably once a week, you buy it in multiple colors lol!
For my office look, I paired them with a white bodysuit which works great with the slightly higher rise of these pants and a unique, light-colored, tweed blazer. This blazer is actually super old, but I linked some cute similar options for you here, here and here! This bodysuit was also a bargain find and comes in black too! I have trouble with bodysuits because of my height, but this one is really stretchy so I actually got it in a size small for reference. I finished the outfit with some simple white leather d’orsay pumps {linking a bargain pair here too!} and a great structured carryall work bag! Mine is from Target, but they don’t sell this one online, so if you don’t see it in your local store, I linked a couple other cute & budget-friendly options here & here! Also linking my stud earrings here because they are a great everyday earring and come in a million colors {or maybe more like 10 lol} but I love them!
To dress these pants down for the weekend, I topped them with a cropped tee with a cute wrap at the waist {sadly mine is past season and sold out but I found some deals on Amazon for similar styles here & here}, straw sandals {these were linked in my spring & summer sandal roundup here!} Fun fringe earrings {literally love these, AND they aren’t heavy!} & a cute nude crossbody complete the look! My crossbody is by Botkier, but is past season and sold out 🙁 couple similar options here, here, and here.
This second pair of pants is a looser look, almost a gaucho type pant. They are high waisted and have pleat details and pockets. I love the silhouette of these because it’s super chic and with a pair of stilettos like I paired it here, they look soo “ready for business” lol! Truth though. I tucked in a silk camisole with lace detail {linked higher-end one here & a crazy bargain similar one here as mine is from a few seasons ago} and a chic black blazer. This is definitely a power look in the all black, one of those I wear on a day with a big meeting 😉 I balanced out the look with the same gray laptop bag as above. I’m not really a belt girl, but I feel like if I had a nice delicate belt I liked that would have really added to this outfit too!
For my weekend look with these pants, I paired them with a super cute and easy tube top that flutters {linked this year’s version here} and my jean jacket {similar options here & here}. My same straw sandals from above look great with this look too & I added a fun boho-feel suede tassel bag. I feel like this look is very summer concert in the park lol. And if you aren’t a fan of tube tops, let me tell you, I’m not a huge fan of them usually either because I hate them falling down or digging in to the underarm area, but this one stays put! And there is a cinched under layer beneath the flutter top so you don’t have to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions! The other accessories I added are tortoise hoop earrings {linked in my vacation-worthy earring post here} & tortoise aviators {similar here}.
As a bonus, I’m linking this pair of work to weekend pants that I found on Amazon for only $25 because they are so cute and such a bargain!
Hope you like these workweek to weekend options! Happy {almost} weekend!
