Our baby girl, Sienna Analise, is ONE! I went back and forth a lot on the decor I wanted for Sienna’s first birthday cake smash. I originally was thinking boho rainbows but also love pretty florals and the Isn’t She ONEderful idea. So I decided to blend them a little bit into Sienna’s Isn’t She ONEderful Boho First Birthday Cake Smash party. Below are all of the decor links and inspo for your baby’s boho first birthday cake smash.

The Balloon Garland
Most of our Isn’t She ONEderful boho baby cake smash decor is from Amazon so budget-friendly and quick to arrive! I built the balloon garland myself {with lots of air from my hubby’s lungs, thanks babe}. I have some tips for making a DIY balloon garland in my post here from Luca’s Wild One First Birthday. The only update I will add now that I have made a few balloon garlands is that I do pull the small balloons through the balloon garland string now. I will pull it through and then tie another small balloon to it {using the two tied ends of the balloon to make a knot} so they don’t slip back through.
Before Luca’s 3rd birthday a few weeks ago, I purchased this gold balloon arch stand, and it was a great investment! I used simple balloon ribbon to tie the balloon garland to the arch and packing tape to tape the muted apricot number 1 balloon to it.
Here are the balloons I used for Sienna’s boho first birthday cake smash balloon arch:
- White assorted sizes
- Pearl clear/white regular size balloons
- Peach assorted sizes
- Blush pink assorted sizes
- Metallic rose gold small balloons {set comes with other sizes but I chose to just use the small for a tiny amount of the accent color}
- Pearl peach small balloons
- Metallic champagne small balloons

The Cake
To set the scene for her Isn’t She ONEderful boho cake smash photos, I used this boho jute rug from her nursery. Check out her full nursery tour & decor here. I topped it with this chunky boho tassel blanket to make it softer and to catch any icing lol. Our cake stand was from our wedding so no longer for sale, but here is a gold cake stand with a pretty solid base that would work well for a cake smash photoshoot.
I chose to do a simple naked cake from the same local bakery cafe that I ordered the food from for her party. If you are somewhat local to me, definitely check out Cafe Pierrot in Sparta. The morning of Sienna’s party I went to a local farm I had connected with. I was able to pick some fresh dahlias, zinnias, and more to make simple but beautiful flower arrangements and to use as decoration for her cake. Other than a few pretty, neutral blooms, I just added this pretty laser cut wood one script cake topper.

The Outfit
For Sienna’s Isn’t She ONEderful boho cake smash, I found this cute little boho baby girl romper for her. She looked so beautiful! I was really indecisive on headpieces for her as I found these beautiful floral headbands, but also this pretty floral head wreath. I ended up going with the boho baby floral head wreath flower crown to make more of a statement, and I love the way it looked. Shockingly she didn’t rip it off or even try lol.
On Sienna’s actual first birthday, I did a mini milestone photo shoot on the beach in Maine since we were on vacation. She wore this faux greenery head wreath and gingham romper for those photos!

The Spread
Our gathering for Sienna’s Isn’t She ONEderful boho cake smash was small, just our immediate family. We did a simple brunch and I used these blush and gold scalloped plates and the combo of these scalloped napkins and floral napkins. The catering was also from Cafe Pierrot and included two types of quiche, raspberry stuffed french toast, assorted finger sandwiches, potato salad, mini cannolis, and a fruit platter. The food was delicious!
