Many things about my first pregnancy have definitely not been how I would have expected due to COVID, including our baby shower becoming a drive up baby shower. But despite it being a bit different, smaller, and not full of hugs & baby bump rubs, it really was a beautiful & special day that Marc & I are so grateful for. It was also 97 degrees & sunny so excuse how wilted I look lol…just so happy it didn’t rain on us!
Today I’m sharing all the details of our drive up baby shower as inspiration for other mamas-to-be during COVID, but many of these details are also great for in-person traditional baby showers too! Fun fact about me is that I used to plan weddings, charity events & parties for a living so I looove all things related to event planning! 🙂
Drive up baby shower decor details are linked below, and for my Jersey mamas, here are my vendors who I can’t rave enough about!
Vendors
- Flowers by Jardiniere Fine Flowers in Bedminster {I used to work at Jardiniere for years & knew they would be able to deliver a beautiful birch arch & accent flowers as the focal point for our drive up shower!}
- Cake Pops & French Macarons by Sweets by Carla B {she was literally just as sweet as the sweets she makes & I loved working with her! The cake pops were individually bagged and tied & the macarons were two to a box tied perfectly with a little ribbon – and if you know me, it’s the little details like this that are important to me & she made them perfectly!}
- Themed Frosted Sugar Cookies & Star Cake by Splurge Bakery in Millburn {so easy to work with & they executed my vision perfectly for our individually wrapped themed cookies & mini celebration cake!}
Favors
Our favor bags were full of all the sweets for our guests! In addition to the macaron duos, cookies & cake pops mentioned above, the bags held these champagne gummies & mini barefoot wine bottles. The mini bottles had custom tags on them as did the white gift bags {see below for an up-close look!} tied with these simple ribbons {here & here}. I designed the tags personally on Zazzle, which I have used a number of times & am very happy with the quality and personalization options, because I wanted a specific look. But head to their website where there are also tons of pre-made designs to choose from that you can customize with your personal info!
Decor
I ordered our baby shower invitations from my go-to for invitations, Minted, and loved how they came out. We had two 6 foot tables, one for the favors and gifts and one for the dessert display. The linens I picked up on Amazon {here & here} as well as a lot of the other decor. Here is the rundown of all our drive up baby shower decor:
- “BABY” block boxes, and filled them with these pastel balloons
- Cake stands {similar here, here & here}
- “Oh Baby” cake topper
- Star confetti
- “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” banner – TIP: clip it to the tablecloth with mini wood clothes pins!
- Letter board
- 24″ round balloons {confetti ones & plain ones and here} with vine strands {similar here & here} – also linking these 18″ round balloons because they are more cost-effective & honestly I think we would have been fine with this size because the 24″ were huge lol!
- Mylar 36″ crescent moon balloon {rose gold here or gold/silver here}
Hope you enjoyed this drive up or in person baby shower inspo post & happy baby shower to you or yours!
