You guys know I’m all about stocking my closet with versatile fashion pieces, and one way to do that is buy pieces you can wear throughout the seasons. Unlike a lot of people, I don’t have bins where I put away my winter or summer clothes during the year, because I truly can wear most of it year round! Below are a bunch of tips for what to shop for in order to have pieces you can work with in the different seasons plus some outfit inspo of how I transition some of my favorite summer pieces into fall fashions!

Floral Dress // Slide Sandals // Mini Backpack {similar} // Chunky Cardigan {similar} // Booties
Leopard Midi Dress // Gold Slide Sandals // Suede & Leather Bag // Faux Suede Mini Skirt // Black Bodysuit // Booties // Denim & Sherpa Jacket // Suede Bag {same, different color}
Transitional Style Tips:
- Summer pieces in warm colors such as burnt orange or red, tan, goldenrod yellow & nude easily transition into fall
- Dresses, especially midi dresses, can easily be transitioned into fall with boots or booties and a sweater or leather or suede jacket
- Muted florals & animal prints work well year round!
- Gray or medium wash denim can be worn year round, and even white denim now is trendy into winter as long as worn with over the knee or knee high boots
- Basic closet staples such as tees, bodysuits, denim, and leggings are always great investments that you can wear throughout the year
- Open toe booties or low ankle booties are now on trend for summer and of course are great for fall
- Pumps in lighter nude or tan colors but suede work for all seasons
- Mules are also a great year round shoe especially in a tan or blush suede but even in leather or animal print
- Choose transitional fabrics like silks, cotton, open or light weave sweaters or poly blends and you’ll get year round use out of them
- When in doubt, LAYER! Layers are your best friend for making clothes work year round – a simple bodysuit, tank, tee, or blouse, just needs a chunky sweater or denim jacket to make it fall appropriate!
