Paris is a magical city, with beauty and culture everywhere you turn. Parisians have a natural chic-ness about them, and their style is a mix of simple, classic, subtly sexy & romantic. We visited Paris this past June, and I knew I needed to up my typical summer vacation style to something a little more sophisticated. However, we did add in a visit to the Côte d’Azur during our vacation in France, which is a whole different style vibe, so stay tuned for that post!

The week we were in France, there was a record heat wave, so that definitely impacted what we wore as well lol. But here are some general packing tips for Paris for men & women plus what I wore on our trip for some outfit inspo.

Pack em
- Lightweight dresses and/or skirts that are slightly more sophisticated
- Rompers with longer shorts and/or a wider strap
- Chino and/or linen shorts, pants, or floods
- Flowy or structured tank tops or cap-sleeve tops {lace, eyelet & florals highly recommended}
- Versatile scarf you can wear on the plane & also bring as a wrap when heading to dinner for any chilly nights
- Comfy sandals that will stay on your feet easily {I wore this pair our ENTIRE trip and they were perfect. Also have them in this color!}
- Slip on or lace up sneaks {such as Keds, Soludos, Toms or something else lightweight and comfy to walk in!}
- Suede or leather mini backpack {this one is similar to mine I brought which was perfect!} or crossbody bag big enough to fit a water bottle plus your necessities
Leave em behind
- Sundresses, strapless dresses or things you’d wear in a beach destination
- Denim shorts or jean pants unless they are chambray with a belt or something to dress them up & not distressed
- Flip flops
- Heels {wedges are ok, see my note below!}

Pack em
- Simple lightweight and/or heathered tees and henleys {I picked up a bunch of these great, comfy tees for Marc right before our trip for under $15 & he loved them!}
- Lightweight {especially moisture wicking} polos
- Lightweight {catching the theme lol} short or long-sleeve button downs
- Chino shorts and/or pants
- Stretchy, fast-drying, sophisticated shorts such as these or these
- Slip on or lace up sneakers {such as Toms, New Balance or another lightweight pair that will be comfy for longs days of walking}
- Loafers or boat shoes for dinner outfits {and/or dress shoes if packing slacks}
- Drawstring/slingback bag for daytime exploring
Leave em behind
- Flip flops or sandals of any kind
- Tank tops
- Jean pants or shorts
- Cargo shorts
- Exceptionally loud graphic tees
I packed a few fancy dresses because we attended a wedding & post-wedding brunch while there, plus I wanted to take pretty pictures because, well, it’s PARIS! lol …but in reality, you don’t need fancy dresses or heels at all unless you are also attending an event or want for photos. Otherwise, you won’t wear the heels that’s for sure on all the cobblestone lol!
