When planning our trip to the Nice, France and the French Riviera, I did a TON of research before choosing where to stay, including hotels and Airbnbs. Many of the Airbnbs did not offer AC {which would have been horrible since we were there during a heat wave where they experienced record highs in the 90s the entire week!} and I also felt they were a bit dated or just far out of town or nice but way out of our budget. In regards to hotels, many of these are also quite dated, and many are VERY expensive. The AC Hotel by Marriott was right on our budget and was worth every penny. Sharing below why I cannot recommend enough that you stay at this hotel!
Great Location
Located right off the Promenade des Anglais, you have the opportunity to walk right onto the beach in about 2 minutes. It’s perfect for a morning jog or walk on the Promenade as well. You’re only 15 minutes from the airport as well, so once you arrive in Nice, you can start your vacation even sooner! Within 15 minutes of walking from the hotel you are in Vieille Ville {the old town}, the main shopping streets, and the train station. There are also buses just outside the hotel if you prefer to take the bus or want to take the bus to a neighboring town.
Parking
If you rent a car, you will need to pay to park at the hotel, but at least you know it is safe. We only rented a car for one day, and they let us keep it in a spot out front for a couple hours at no charge which was so nice. Otherwise, they have an overnight garage for somewhere around 24 euro per 24 hour period I believe. I highly recommend using public transport {mainly the trains, but buses too if you are just going to a very nearby town} if you want to explore other towns on the Côte d’Azur. If you are just staying in Nice, there is absolutely no need for a car!
Rooms & Amenities
The rooms are semi-small {normal size for Europe} and basic but modern and clean. The bathrooms are actually pretty large by European standards and hotel standards in general. There is a fridge in the room & iron plus a full-size ironing board which is rare in Europe from my experience. I loved that the downstairs lobby had a lounge type area to hang out in and have a coffee.

The gym was closed for renovation when we were there, but honestly, we walked so much on our trip that we didn’t really need the gym. I did partake in rooftop morning yoga one morning {additional 15 euro} when I was there though, and it was sooo relaxing and such a beautiful way to start the day. It was really more of a stretching class, but the instructor was so beautiful and sweet, and it this way it is geared towards all levels. Even though I am a yoga teacher so a little more advanced, I loved the whole experience of the class and it was just perfect!
Dining
Room service is offered at this hotel as are two restaurants, both of which were delicious. The rooftop restaurant is tapas style and has some great, unique options and truly the best ambience of any restaurant in the entire city in my opinion {check out these pictures to see!} The downstairs restaurant has indoor or outdoor seating and the pizza is to die for! It was so good that I got it two times in the 5 days we were there lol! All of the servers are just so so sweet as well as is the staff throughout the hotel, which is huge to me because you don’t find that many places.
The Best Part
And I saved the best for last, there is a rooftop pool, bar and lounge area! This is the same area where the restaurant is and yoga took place and what you see in most of my photos here so just imagine the vibe! 🙂 This is what sold me on this hotel, and let me tell you, it’s even better in person than I had expected! The sunsets and sunrises from the rooftop are insanely gorgeous, and you can get a view of Nice from above that you can’t get many other places.
Not much else needs to be said about rooftop pool & bar now does it lol, except that I wish I had had more time to spend there! I will 100% stay at this hotel again our next visit to Nice, which I hope is very soon! 🙂
